As of Saturday, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 grossed $1 billion, becoming the highest-grossing Harry Potter film in international markets of all time. The biggest moneymaking Harry Potter film before this was the first in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which brought in $974.8 million internationally back in 2001-2002.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is also the ninth movie ever to break the billion dollar mark. Of the billion made, 68 percent came from international markets, including in the U.K., Japan, Australia and Germany.
